Appointment pivotal as Arcade ramps growth in wireless retail sector.
Arcade, a leading sales software company focused on helping companies boost sales performance and productivity through gamification, is excited to announce the appointment of Mark Clare as Head of Sales. Clare, who brings more than three decades of sales leadership experience to Arcade, will help the company continue to increase its penetration in the wireless retail sector and eventual entry into the specialty retail market.
For the past three years, Clare has served as vice president, Partnerships and Channels, for workplace learning solutions provider Upduo, overseeing the company's channel distribution and partnership strategies. Clare, who is passionate about coaching and people development, will continue to serve in an advisory role to Upduo.
Clare has a vast understanding of the ever-evolving wireless industry, having spent 27 years with AT&T in various leadership positions. Additionally, he previously led the Account Management team for North America at Likewize (formerly Brightstar) and has served on several professional boards and committees, including the CCA Event Committee Member, Board Member of the Institute of Management Consultants (Georgia) and UX Advisory Board Member at both the University of Richmond and George Washington University. He has also volunteered as a coach in Kennesaw State's Executive MBA program for the last 15 years.
Clare holds an MBA from Mercer University’s Stetson School of Business and a BBA from Eastern Kentucky University.
Clare’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Arcade as the company reaches its four-year milestone. As the Arcade gamification platform evolves to include advanced technical capabilities, Clare's leadership will help drive the company's growth and innovation, ensuring Arcade continues to meet the dynamic needs of wireless and specialty retail sales teams.
Arcade co-founders David Cherrie and James McLaren created a platform that addresses the challenges in wireless retail today, where it's hard to train, engage, and retain sales reps.
Arcade’s “learn to earn” game play approach equips employees with the skills and motivation they need to sell by infusing a fun element into sales training while also reinforcing the often-overlooked execution piece by changing behavior. Through consistent rewarding and recognition of employees, the Arcade platform helps retailers scale consistent behaviors across stores and motivate mid-performers to achieve the highest impact. The more teams engage with the platform, the more energized they become to sell more – ultimately driving profitability for the business.
David Cherrie, CEO, Arcade:
“We are thrilled to welcome Mark Clare to Arcade. His extensive background in the wireless industry and passion for training makes him a perfect fit to drive Arcade's sales efforts. Clare brings a unique strategic vision that will be invaluable as we continue to scale and innovate in the wireless retail space.”
“As a former wireless sales rep myself, I understand the challenges faced when you’re on the sales floor serving customers in a fast-paced environment. We designed the Arcade platform to meet the needs of retailers by tapping into sales reps' passion for recognition and rewards, using a fun and interactive gaming approach to enhance their learning and long-term motivation. With Mark’s help, we want to take Arcade to the next level, expanding our reach across the wireless ecosystem.”
Mark Clare, Head of Sales, Arcade:
“I am grateful to join the dynamic and innovative team at Arcade and contribute to its mission of transforming sales engagement in the wireless retail sector. Under David’s leadership, they have built a powerful but simple platform that delivers a new solution to inspire, grow and develop people – taking their performance to the next level. The company’s commitment to changing the way retail sales teams learn and are motivated aligns perfectly with my own desire –and professional background--to help drive teams to new heights.”
